Dear all,

You are warmly invited to the next seminar in our Sociology series on Weds 21st October, 4pm, Claremont Bridge 5th Floor, CLB.563.

We are delighted to welcome Mireia Trenchs-Parera to talk about 'Translingualism and cosmopolitanism in bilingual Catalonia.' This talk has been organised with the Sociology Identities, Embodiments and Selves research cluster. Mireia is Associate Professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona). Her research examines language attitudes, ideologies and practices in Catalonia linking questions of language acquisition with issues of identity. Her talk draws on an ethnographic research with young people in secondary schools in Catalonia, exploring challenges of the migration experience and the experience of bilingualism.

Drinks in the GPS common room afterwards.

We look forward to seeing you.
